Academic profile
About me
Research Assistant in the Intelligent Systems Group at Kiel University and PhD student, developing a recommendation system for diagnosis support in emergency medicine.
Who I am
I have hands-on experience in medical and clinical data analysis, data structuring, and prediction and classification modelling, with a strong technical background in Python, SQL, and diverse data formats, and practical experience in interdisciplinary academic and industrial environments.
The main focus of my PhD is developing a recommendation system for diagnosis support in emergency medicine — a system that helps clinicians reach a diagnosis from incomplete, heterogeneous, and time-critical patient data.
Since 2022 I have been a Research Assistant in the Intelligent Systems Group at Kiel University. I work on medical and clinical data for basic analysis, structuring, and data-flow management; curate research data from clinical and biomedical studies; build data-integration pipelines across text, image, tabular, and time-series sources; and develop predictive and classification models for diseases, medications, and measurements — ensuring data quality, consistency, and traceability across projects. I completed the KIT2 (TeleNotArzt) project, a real-world collaboration with RWTH Aachen University.
Before Kiel I was a Data Scientist in the Research & Development department of Paul Wurth S.A. in Luxembourg (2020–2021), working on data collection and validation, predictive modelling, and process optimisation with machine learning and deep learning for industrial projects.
Research orientation
- Recommendation systems for diagnosis support in emergency medicine
- Multimodal machine learning across text, image, tabular, and time-series data
- AI-supported integration of clinical data; prediction and classification models
- Synthetic data generation and missing-value imputation for healthcare
Professional approach
I focus on building transparent, reproducible, and useful analytical systems, and on ensuring data quality, consistency, and traceability across interdisciplinary projects. I value a balance between methodological rigor, experimentation, industry relevance, and clear interpretation of results.
